9th December 2025 - Christmas Wreath Masterclass

£180.00

Led by Neil Crump, founder of Asterion & Co.

Step into the festive spirit with this one-day masterclass in natural wreath making, held in the warm and characterful interiors of The Old Vicarage, Leigh upon Mendip — a reimagined 16th-century farmhouse nestled in the Mendip Hills near Frome.

Guided by Neil, who’s usual Christmas decorating of the Old Vicarage take five days, you’ll learn how to create an abundant, beautiful wreath using sustainable materials gathered from garden and hedgerow, with demonstrations on structure, texture and styling. This immersive, joyful day is the perfect way to mark the beginning of the season — with Christmas music, mulled drinks, and a leisurely seated lunch by candlelight.

All materials and foliage will be provided, but you are warmly encouraged to bring along their own ribbon, baubles, or decorative flourishes — anything that complements your Christmas theme or can be borrowed from the family decoration box. Bring your favourite secateurs too, and we’ll show you how to sharpen and care for them.

This festive workshop includes:

  • Demonstrations on a willow frame (handmade from coppiced willow gathered from the garden)

  • Guided foraging for winter greenery in the garden with discussion of the symbolism and folklore.

  • Expert help with building structure and styling your design

  • Seasonal refreshments, music, and a seated lunch in the dining room where Christmas decoration will abound

  • Tips on preserving your wreath throughout December

If you cannot make this Tuesday 9th December class, a session is being offered a few days before on Saturday 6th December.
