Spend the day moving between studio and reflection in this immersive mixed-media masterclass at The Old Vicarage.
Working from a photograph of your home, you’ll explore collage, acrylic and mark-making to build a portrait that moves beyond representation into interpretation. A personalised A3 image pack, prepared in advance from your submitted image, gives you multiple visual starting points to cut, layer and respond to.
Guided by Julia Blaker’s distinctive, folk-influenced approach, you’ll be encouraged to simplify, exaggerate and reimagine instinctively. The result is a piece that holds atmosphere, memory and emotional resonance.
Asterion & Co. will open the day with a short contextual session exploring the tradition of house portraiture, from symbols of land and identity to the intimacy of domestic photography. The focus throughout is on quiet observation, intuitive making and the unhurried rhythm of Heritage-Inspired Learning™.
