Asterion in a China Shop | Coming Soon
Beyond the extraordinary cobalt blues and sculptural forms, Jasperware is filled with stories. From classical mythology to ancient Roman and Greek references, Wedgwood’s modellers drew deeply from the ancient world, while even the small pierced pot pourri vase at the centre was designed to scent a room as beautifully as it decorated it.
Asterion & Co. is preparing to launch a curated Jasperware collection inspired by one of Britain’s most iconic ceramic traditions. From rich cobalt blues and soft sage greens to rarer black jasperware, these sculptural objects sit at the intersection of classical art, interior design and craftsmanship.
First developed by Josiah Wedgwood in 1774, Jasperware became synonymous with neoclassical taste and British design history. At Asterion & Co., we’re exploring a new presentation of these extraordinary pieces: less museum cabinet, more conversation piece. Think candlelight, wood panelling, disco balls and a touch of irreverence.
The Asterion in a China Shop collection will launch soon through a dedicated shop. Join our newsletter, The Branch, for previews, launch updates and first access to newly sourced pieces as they arrive.
Black Jasperware has a completely different mood: sharper, more theatrical and wonderfully graphic . The two pastille burners rest on trios of dolphins, while perfumed essence spiralls delicately through the pierced lids into the room.
Soft sage greens, dusty pinks and ‘Wedgwood blues’ bringing neoclassical drama into contemporary interiors.
